Welcome to my Blog. I hope you will have fun with this blog because I'm certain that I will have fun writing it. I'm Teri and I've been sewing for many, many years. And managed to learn a few things along the way. But I'm retired now and don't have as many reasons to sew as I used to. So I thought I would pass on what I've learned over these many years.
My Gran'ma started me sewing back in 1957 ( I was 6yrs old) by standing me up beside her sewing machine and explaining everything she was doing and why as she made my new clothes for the coming school year. We went together to F.W. Woolworths to choose the right cottons for my dresses. That was such a special treat. Then we went home and my Gran'ma pulled out the old newspaper from earlier in the week and started to draw and cut a pattern just the right size for me.
Well, I never have used newspaper too create a pattern like she did but over the years I've used enough tissue paper for patterns and making pattern adjustment.
So as I write this I hope I can create some interesting tutorials for all of you and if there is anything specific that any of my readers would like for me to test out and write about...please let me know. When I was doing a lot of teaching in stores back in the early '80's "My Ladies" gave me wonderful ideas of what they wanted to learn. I hope it works again.
